Stephen McHale has a notable history of successfully starting and building information technology companies in Northeast Ohio.
He was co-founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Explorys, which was formed in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic. Explorys, which addresses the crucial need to use electronic medical records to improve healthcare, was sold to IBM in 2015. Explorys amassed the world’s largest clinical data set, spanning hundreds of thousands of healthcare providers and more than 60 million patients in the U.S.
He previously created Everstream, a media streaming company, and McHale & Associates. Both of those ventures were acquired by other companies. Stephen currently serves as the Managing Director of 23Bell, an invention capital firm and he is an advisory board member of Austin-based Genesis Inventions, a market leader in cyber security development. Stephen also chairs the board of RxRevu Inc., a leader in prescription decision support.
Stephen is as involved with his community as he is with his work. He serves on the board of directors of some of Cleveland’s most prominent non-profits including the Center for Families and Children, Jumpstart, Museum of Natural History, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Clinic. He participates in the North Coast Angel Fund and is a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization.
